About This Event

On February 28 (1pm), join award-winning actress and creative Producer Silvia “Punkin” Mathis for a dynamic, hands-on workshop designed to elevate your self-tapes. Whether you're recording in a studio, a spare bedroom, or next to a lamp with the shade pulled off. Silvia has booked network television straight from a self-tape and has cast from hundreds of auditions on the producing side, giving her a rare dual perspective on what truly captures attention.

In this session, you'll learn how to shape a clean, professional frame, build emotional truth for the camera, and self-direct with clarity and confidence. Silvia will walk you through lighting basics, sound strategy, reader dynamics, slating, eyelines, and the kind of performance choices that rise above the noise — even when your environment is far from perfect.

Drawing on her work as a Creative Producer in film and television, Silvia will also reveal what happens behind the scenes during casting discussions: how producers evaluate actors, what separates a "good tape" from a "bookable tape," and how to position yourself for callbacks and next-level opportunities from any market — large or small.

This workshop is ideal for actors, readers, coaches, filmmakers, and anyone supporting or creating self-taped auditions. You'll walk away with a practical toolkit, industry insight you won't find in textbooks, and renewed creative confidence. Reserve your spot today!
